As we gather here, it is important to acknowledge and recognize the land on which we reside. A land that is rich with Indigenous history. As a community, we have a responsibility to respect the land on which we work and reside. Black Pine recognizes that its work, and the work of its partners take place on traditional Indigenous territories across the province.  It is important to acknowledge that there are 46 treaties and other agreements that cover the territory now called Ontario. We are thankful to the First Nations, Metis and Inuit people who have cared for this land since time immemorial. We are also thankful for their continued contributions to the strength of Ontario and to all communities across the province.
